BONA MOPS
How to assemble my Bona Spray Mop?

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Line up poles A & B and then snap them firmly together. You should hear a click sound.
    a.   Check the trigger - there should be tension.
  2. Attach the mop pole to mop base by aligning the similar size tabs in the knuckle.
  3. Attach Microfiber pad to base so the blue side is on the floor.
  4. Insert cartridge and push down very firmly until you hear a loud "click" or "pop". You should also see air bubbles flow.
My Bona Spray Mop will not spray?

If your mop is not spraying properly, assure the mop is fully assembled. Poles A & B will NOT separate when the mop is fully assembled.

 

  1. Assure that the microfiber cleaning pad is attached to the base of your mop.
  2. Remove the refillable cleaner cartridge from your Mop.
  3. Assemble poles A&B and push down firmly until poles A&B are completely clicked into place. If poles A&B are not locked into place, it will not spray properly, so push hard!
  4. Poles A&B will not separate when the mop is fully assembled.
  5. Return cleaner cartridge by pushing down firmly with two hands until you hear an audible click.

How to refill my Bona Cleaner Cartridge?

To remove the cartridge from your Next Generation Basic Spray Mop or Premium Spray Mop:

 

  • Simply press the grey cartridge eject button and lift the cartridge straight up. Then unscrew the white cap, pour the cleaner in the cartridge bottle, screw the cap back on and put it back into your mop.

 

To remove the cartridge from your Hardwood Floor Spray Mop or Express Mop:

 

  • Look at the top of the cartridge bottle and you will see a hole at the top. Put your fingers in the hole and simply pull up. Then unscrew the white cap, pour the cleaner in the cartridge bottle, screw the cap back on and put it back into your mop.

  1. Insert the small mop grip piece into the end of Pole A. This will be at the top of the mop.
  2. Expand the two mop poles to their full extension. Once there, hold the top pole with your left hand and the bottom pole with your right hand. While keeping your left-hand steady, twist the bottom pole away from you with your right hand until it locks into place. Once locked, release the two mop poles and see if this helps keep them connected.
How do I lock the telescoping pole of my Bona Microfiber Floor Mop into place?

Expand the two mop poles to their full extension. Once there, hold the top pole with your left hand and the bottom pole with your right hand. While keeping your left-hand steady, twist the bottom pole away from you with your right hand until it locks into place. Once locked, release the two mop poles.

Opening your Bona Spray Bottle is similar to opening a medicine bottle. Put the spray bottle on a hard surface and hold the bottle with one hand. Put your other hand on top of the plastic sprayer, push down and turn counterclockwise at the same time. To put it back on, just push down and turn the sprayer clockwise to line it up.

How do I care for my Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pads?

Below please find washing instructions for our Microfiber Pads:

  • Wash pad in warm or hot cycle with plain detergent.
  • Air or tumble dry pad on low.
  • DO NOT use bleach, fabric softener or dryer sheets.
  • DO NOT wash with other cleaning rags/pads that have other cleaners on them.
How long will my Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad last?

Bona Microfiber Pads will last for approximately 300 machine washes.

Do I need to dilute Bona Cleaners with water?

Unless the container states that it is a concentrate, Bona Cleaners are ready to use and should not be diluted.

What does “rinse pad often to avoid streaking” mean?

If you are cleaning a larger area or several small rooms, you will want to take the cleaning pad off of the mop and rinse it out in your sink with warm water to release the captured dirt. Wring it out so it is only slightly damp and attach it back on the mop and continue mopping.

How to remove other manufactures’ products from my floor?

Because they are most familiar with their products, we recommend contacting the manufacturer to find out what they recommend to remove their products from your floor. They know the chemical makeup of their products and will know the best method for removal.

What is the difference between Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and Bona Professional Series Hardwood Floor Cleaner?

The professional series cleaners were originally created for the janitorial community and are slightly stronger than our regular cleaners. However, the Professional Series is safe and easy to use in homes as well. Both our regular consumer cleaners and our professional series cleaners leave no dulling or sticky residue. They are also GREENGUARD GOLD Certified for indoor air quality.  Bona Cleaners are safe for sealed or finished, and unwaxed or unoiled floors.

BONA POLISHES
What are Bona Hardwood Floor and Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Polishes?

Bona Floor Polishes’ urethane-acrylic blend evens out the floor's appearance, restores the shine and provides a durable wear layer for protection. Bona Polishes may also be used to fill in minor scratches and to even out the sheen of a floor. It is not recoatable with polyurethane finishes or Bona Refresher. Use no more than every 2-4 months or longer to keep floors looking their best. One bottle of the 32oz. Polish covers 500 sq. ft. Be sure to complete a TEST AREA before coating the entire floor.

 

We offer two types of polishes for hardwood floors and one for stone, tile and laminate floors. The Bona Hardwood Floor Polish comes in a High Gloss and Low Gloss and the Bona Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Polish comes in a High Gloss. The High Gloss Hardwood Floor Polish has a slightly lower sheen than the Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Polish and the Low Gloss Hardwood Floor Polish will put a matte or satin sheen on your floor.

 

Bona Polishes are safe for use on your sealed or finished, and unwaxed or unoiled hardwood, stone, tile or laminate surface. Surfaces should be sealed including the grout lines, unsealed stone or grout lines may cause staining.

How to apply Bona Polishes?

Always refer to the instructions before using the Polish and be sure to do a test area before coating the entire floor. Below please find our recommendations on how to polish your floors:

 

  • Start with a clean floor using Bona Cleaners. If unfamiliar with cleaning products previously used on the floor, Bona recommends using Bona PowerPlus Deep Clean and Bona PowerPlus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad to remove any cleaner residue.
  • Remove furniture, rugs, etc. and vacuum, sweep or dust mop the floor.
  • Attach a dedicated blue Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad to the bottom of your Bona Mop.
  • Gently rock the Polish bottle back and forth for 30 seconds.
  • It is very important to measure your floor before applying the polish.
  • Do a small TEST AREA first before applying the Polish throughout your floor.
    • One bottle of the 32oz. Polish only covers 500 sq. ft., 24oz. Polish only covers 350 sq. ft.
    • If you have a 10x12 foot room - you will use about a 1/4 of the 32oz. bottle.
  • Start in a small manageable area and squirt the polish from the bottle directly onto the floor.
  • Spread the polish going with the grain using a dedicated blue Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad on the bottom of your Bona Mop. You will want to keep the pad damp with Polish to help reduce streaking.
  • After applying the polish- wash out your Microfiber Pad immediately to remove polish residue.
  • After 1 to 2 hours, depending on humidity, you may walk on the floor in your stocking feet.
  • Cure time is 24 hours. After this time, replace furniture, allow heavy traffic and pets.
  • Use no more than every 2-4 months or longer to keep floors looking their best.
